Elegance and complexity with a deep dark berry structure characterize this serious Diamond Mountain hillside wine. While showing purity of fruit from this southernmost vineyard on Diamond Mountain, it's still remains softer than most hillside wines, which is a tribute to the special terroir here on the Schramsberg estate, and the capable hands of the winemakers. This Bordeaux blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Malbec was aged in 65% new and 35% used French oak barrels for 24 months. Additionally, this wonderful nineth vintage has been provided six months in bottle to blend and mature even more gracefully. Estate grown here on the Schramsberg property, the wine has become a true expression of our Diamond Mountain hillside vineyards. Just over 2,450 cases were produced, with magnums and three liters also available in limited quantities.
